Carol O'Neill

Chief Transformation Officer

Carol O
I am a strong believer in engaging my team in defining the vision and the actions needed to realize the vision. No one person has enough knowledge to figure out where we should go and how we should get there, but a team of people with different backgrounds and experiences can achieve great things.

In her role as Chief Transformation Officer, Carol O'Neill prioritizes crucial initiatives for Barry-Wehmiller’s success. She leads supply chain, additive manufacturing and equipment development services. In addition, she is responsible for Barry-Wehmiller’s life-cycle support, digital products and services, and enterprise resource planning.

Prior to Barry-Wehmiller, Carol developed an impressive background in leadership, manufacturing and packaging, as well as consulting and information technology. After working for a management consulting firm in Boston and leading productivity improvement efforts at the New York City Transit Authority, Carol entered the packaging world as Director of Performance Improvement at Sealed Air. In her 11 years there, she also served as Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Business Development. Carol left Sealed Air to run a $300 million private food company in Chicago and was enticed back into the packaging industry to run the packaging division at Spartech Corporation (acquired by PolyOne Corporation, now Avient, in 2013).

Drawn to Barry-Wehmiller’s culture and values, Carol joined the organization in 2014 to serve as Vice President of Strategy, Technology and Key Initiatives. In this role, she facilitated the examination of the company’s long-term strategy, and the organizational and technical infrastructure to support this strategy.

In her 10 years at Barry-Wehmiller—the last six as Group President, Packaging—Carol has consistently championed product and business innovation within BW Packaging and advanced company-wide initiatives on inclusion, sustainability, supply chain, digital innovation, shared services and information technology.

Carol has a Bachelor of Arts from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in international economic development from Stanford University.
